Welcome to Sivam's Meditation Teacher Training Program. This program targets
-
Yoga teachers
- Meditation teachers
- Holistic therapists
- Chaplains
- Health care professionals and mental health care workers
- Those who would like to deepen their established meditation practice and share with others
and is designed to provide the necessary skills and information required to teach meditation. We view meditation as a universal, biological and non-denominational experience. Meditation is a part of the practice of many religions but is not, itself, a religious experience.
The program is divided into 10 instructional days of 5 hours per day. These instructional days are spaced a few weeks apart, allowing for the integration and journaling of the experiences with each meditation. These experiences will be shared at the beginning of each class giving the opportunity to comprehend commonalities and differences within each meditative practice. This is to help prepare for the variety of experiences that the participants’ students may report and the questions that they may ask.
Between instructional days participants will be asked to practice a specific meditation for ½ hour daily in preparation for the sharing of insights, thoughts, questions or concerns with the group in the following session. This is an essential component of the program. Personal experience, and awareness of the experiences of others, is important in any meditation program a teacher might choose to offer.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to guide others through their meditative experiences with a clear comprehension of the theory and biology of meditation. They will have learned and experienced a variety of different meditations, and will have integrated this knowledge and experience into their day-to-day living, thus enabling themselves and others to live with greater harmony, freedom and compassion. They will receive a Certificate of Completion and we will provide assistance in how to set up, advertise and promote their classes.
The next course will commence January 27, 2008 and the last instruction day will be June 8, 2008. After June 8th we will talk with participants individually about their experiences, growth and aspirations prior to awarding their certificate.
We look forward to sharing this opportunity with you.
